VALLEY CAMINO

Our Walks
The Valley Camino Chapter provides regular informal training walks on two Valley rail-bed trails, the Algonquin and the K and P.
From September to November and again, from March to June, we sponsor once-a-month Sunday morning walks for those wanting to cultivate their trail skills with other experienced walkers. We will alternate between 10 km walks on the K and P Trail out of Calabogie, back to Pucker Street, early in the month and the Algonquin Trail between Almonte and Carleton Place later in the month.
Camino walkers can always expect a variety of weather conditions and need to be prepared for walking in some moderately poor weather. However, these are all in Spain or Portugal. Respecting the different climates, all our walks are Canadian weather dependent and we will cancel those on days of heavy rain, significant snowfall or exceptional heat or cold.
As with Camino walking itself, our walks are at your own pace. We have an agreed 10 km route and meet-up location and time. You are free to walk it fast or slow, with “friendly” dogs, with walking poles or even using a rollator.
We always offer an post-walk brunch, at peregrino prices, where you can meet with others and talk-the-walk. To arrange meet-up place or , where possible, share rides - contact Ray.
